LABORDE RESTRUCTURES INDUSTRIAL SALES - Friday, March 13, 2015

 View Document

Positioned to provide its products and services across an 11 state area along the Gulf Coast, Laborde Products has restructured its industrial sales department. This reorganization offers precise geographical alignment with the company's opportunities, while enhancing its ability to capitalize on employee experience to support growth and better serve customers.

Previously the branch manager of Laborde's San Antonio, Texas location, Roger Markwardt's role has expanded to industrial manager for all of Laborde Products. Casey Symonds is now branch manager, while Lee Krause joins as parts and service coordinator.

Symonds brings much knowledge and experience to the role, serving 14 years with RSC Equipment Rentals in management positions. He was also senior branch manager for United Rentals. Prior to his tenure in the rental industry, Symonds worked in the heavy-duty diesel engine business, involved with the marine, industrial, and oil and gas industries.

"His experience in the rental industry ensures he has considerable knowledge of the machinery and equipment that we sell and service in San Antonio," said Markwardt.

In addition, Laborde expects to begin some light manufacturing in late 2015 at its San Antonio location. Possible products include water transfer pump packages, portable air cooled diesel pump packages, mobile gen sets, and various power units.

"We will gain efficiency by utilizing this facility for manufacturing while providing localized support. This gives customers the opportunity to work directly with engineering and fabrication teams for custom built packages that meet specific requirements," said Markwardt.

"By substantially expanding our production capabilities, we can continue to provide quality equipment in a timely fashion," said Brian Laborde, president of Laborde Products. "We are currently investing in our people and facilities to prepare our business for future growth. Our industrial business hopes to capitalize on opportunities outside of the oil and gas markets that will respond positively to the reduction in fuel prices."
